Lauren is the Director of Development at Calvert House and a PhD Candidate in History of Christianity at the University of Chicago (CV). Her research centers on visual exegesis in early Christian art, and specifically the portrayal of the apostle Peter in late antique Rome. Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, she studied Political Philosophy as an undergraduate at Yale University before starting graduate studies at the University of Chicago. While pursuing her studies, she gained experience in development and Catholic institutions at the Yale MacMillan Center, the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Elm Grove WI, and the Lumen Christi Institute in Chicago. She is passionate about supporting Catholic intellectual and spiritual life at the university and beyond, and enjoys playing volleyball, dancing, painting, and gardening.
